My Definition of Leadership I define leadership as something that can be done by everyone; anyone has the potential to be a leader in different forms. It should be done in a way that creates positive change by reflecting upon yourself, the community, and society. The best leadership is done well when it pushes you beyond yourself, to take risks and set up conditions for success. I hold this true for myself as a leader, which is why I aspire higher. |
To inspire others I focus on identifying their passion, values, and skills. Creating a collaborative environment involves commitment, communication, and a common purpose. Leading people requires putting others in front of yourself. I aim to share visions with my peers for motivation to achieve goals.
A quote I like to relate back to when thinking about leadership is "attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity" by Simone Weil. This quote stands out to me because I do not believe that to be a leader a person needs to be out front. I believe a leader listens, to either be a form of support or to find a way for the individual, team, or organization to succeed.
